Writer's Blockage?

So - that long post about homeopathy? I also once got told that the body responds to your emotional state in a measured and appropriate fashion. I'll try not to go into too much detail, but I have a... blockage. Something is blocking a sinus behind my left ear, and I wish it would just go away. I don't mind the whole dodgy balance thing that's ( Read more... )

I am so taking that 'dark side' one! Good job! And you're so welcome fo r the tutorials! I think I may end up writing some more at some point - since I did colourings that time round, I could come up with something for finishing and brushes etc.

The colouring's good fun - and I can't get over how impossible it is to muck something up. When everything's in layers you can go back a few steps just by deleting them. Cool. And I am going to have to have a look for how to do textures and masks and things - I can kind of see how you'd apply them in a layer over the top (and you see everything in the final image from the 'top' layer down). Once I start thinking about it in terms of an actual structure, everything makes much more sense...

Man, I'm so hooked on these right now.

do you still have that link to Vrya's tutorials on masks I sent you? I can't be arsed looking for it right now but her main site is vrya.net - the art part is "Tangled Synthesis" and her tutorials are listed under 'Projects'. It might be because she talks about it in terms of photography and lithoprint, but she was the only person who explained masks in a way I actually understood.

And I'm so with you on the layers thing! I know a lot of iconers who 'flatten' the thing they're working on all the time, I hate that - I always 'stamp' a copy so that if it ends up fugly it's easy to fix.

I need an art icon. Or a photography one.

Hmmm. Might hit up sxc later for some stock images and make myself one.
