Insurance. Why do they get off so cheap?

I got my paper work in the mail from the insurance company. Trust me I am very grateful that they have agreed to pay for my treatment but let me show you what I find very concerning. They have paid for treatment for Nov 1 '02 through Apr 8 '03. This is for 3 different doctors as well as all my blood work, tests and x-rays. I'm not sure why they ( Read more... )

Yeah it's VER disturbing. My old gyno stopped accepting my ins cause I needed tests and stuff. I go the bill the ins company paid here $400 and her bill to them was like $900

Doctors vie to be on the 'preferred providers' list for the insurance companies patients, figuring the increase in patient load will offset a small portion of the loss they take from the devil insurance companies. Unfortunately, they have to charge people like you insane amounts of money to make up for all the money the insurance companies cheat them out of. It's also why most of the procedures and office visits are twice the cost of what they actually should be.

I was one of those $7.00 aspirin pushers.

While I am glad you did not have to pay that much because you have insurance, I am very surprised that they give insurance a cheaper price then they would you if you did not have it...
That is not only weird, but so wrong on many levels...
