Didn't get any sleep last night and I prolly kept Ed awake too. My hands have been hurting so badly. I went to bed around 1:15am, they started hurting immediately. I took 3 Tylenol® @ 325mg each. That didn't help much. I got relief for about 20minutes, just long enough to start to fall asleep and then BAM! burning stinging pain in my fingers, ( Read more... )

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with your hands and arms now. It seems like it is just one thing after another.

Once I had a toothache that hurt so bad I just kept popping OTC pain meds and I got REALLY sick. In one night I took about 20 tylenol (I'd take 5 at a time) and about 25-30 advil. The next day I puked up chunks of bile from my liver. It was all green and HORRIBLY bitter.

Okay, so looking back, maybe it was not a smart thing to do, but the pain was so intense that I just laid there and cried... like you said, they only worked for like 15-20 minutes then the pain was back.

I don't know what you could do other than getting on a very strong pain killer from your doctor... and around here they don't like prescribing pain meds, they didn't give me anything when I had my accident :(

DRUGS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE ON EVERY CORNER! oh wait, they are.......

hopefully it's something as simple as an electrolyte imbalance. I get really swollen and painful fingers when I go out walking and an electrolyte imbalance is all it is--try drinking a bunch of Gatorade for a couple of days and see if that helps alleviate any of the pain.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. That, by the way, was in no way meant as a pun ;o)

I have carpal tunnel now from being on the registers all day (touch screen, weird angle). Trying to find relief methods on internet, but that's more typing!

Well, I'll tell you what little I can about the pain meds...you don't want to take too many tylenol and Vicodin at the same time. Regular strength Vicodin has 500 mg of Tylenol in it (Vicodin EX has 750) and too much Tylenol is really bad for your liver....plus It won't help much if your problem is inflammation. 2 Vicodin won't kill you...BELIEVE me.

I worked on the Bextra study. Small world. It usually doen't help unless you take it on a regular basis.

I sure hope you can find some relief. You've had enough pain. *hugs*

I used to take it (Bextra) this past winter and spring and just started taking it again last week.

Been in pain all day and am not looking forward to another pain filled sleepless night.

Have you looked into those wrist support thingies?
http://www.imakproducts.com/products/smart_glove.htm.

My sister in law was suffering from carpal tunnel and her doctor gave her something like those.

Hope things get better.
