I love that we continue to see that Peter Burke will fuck your shit up if you touch his wife and his Neal. God, I know it's anti-feminist of me, but that Alpha male shit can be SUCH a turn on sometimes. I cheered when he punched Fowler. And Elizabeth was kickass getting all up in Fowler's space.

Everything about last night's season finale just made it more evident that Peter was right when he said that Neal already had people HERE who care about him.

For someone who keeps looking at his past (Kate) in order to build his future, it's taken him a long time to realize that he already has a great PRESENT supportive and loving home base(Mozzie, Dianne Carroll's character, Alex, his fellow FBI agents, El and especially Peter) for it.

Exactly. Neal has SO much love in his life. He needs to stop looking for the idea of it with Kate and accept the reality around him.

I stumbled upon your lj through a White Collar OT3 rec somewhere (which btw NOM NOM YOUR FICTION NOM), and just had to say hi (and use this icon). Because, yes, HOT. I think especially with Peter, because he's such a good, solid man, who keeps things in line, and is so hyper-competent, that when he draws down IT IS ON.

I love that Neal got her the account by calling in his chit at the Channing (the museum from "The Portrait").

Mozzie and Neal saying goodbye -- I can't remember which cast or crew member was talking about how Willie started crying (as Mozzie) and then EVERYONE ON SET started crying for the heartbreak in the scene.

The last scene at the airfield was Casablanca in reverse, with Rick telling Ilsa *not* to get on the plane, because she he can best be a positive force in the world by *staying*. And I loved how, during the whole scene, Neal would walk a little towards the plane, then turn around and talk to Peter, then walk a little more towards the plane, turn around, and finally is stuck just pivoting back and forth, ( ... )

Hi! I guess this is my late reply to your late comment! :)

Thanks for the NOM-ing re: my fics. I have to get back to writing these characters. I love them so. Peter is such a badass, and so the perfect complement to Neal.

Except the deal is bullshit; when Fowler says that both Neal and Kate are now deep cover operatives for OPR, Peter immediately responds that OPR doesn't *have* undercover operatives. And since the plan for Neal was make sure he blowed up real good, I have a feeling it wouldn't have mattered if the deal were real or not.

Thank you for outlining that to me! I think I was so overcome by exploding planes and Neal and Peter's manpain that I totally somehow missed that.

I also like your theory that Fowler didn't know whoever was above him was going to off Neal and Kate. That is incredibly logical, because otherwise why would he have gone to the lengths he went to in order to make sure the "deal' with Neal seemed legit.
