Ok, so I've only seen it once, but in the scene where Cas is collapsed on the couch there appears to be a battery hooked to cables just sitting there in the living room. Why?

I agree Sam and Dean are the most powerful souls and they are big giant battery boosters!!!!

I hate to speculate this, but we don't know exactly where Death traveled to get Sam's soul. What if his soul was stashed somewhere as a power source and that's Cas' dirty little secret. Dean would never forgive him!!!!!

Sam remembered where the hidden room was at the Campbell compound. It seems either he has more memories of the soulless days that he lets on or that memories are returning.

I thought Rachel was in episode 20? I was very confused by that tonight.

If Lucifer was supping on Sammy's soul then he'd grow strong enough to spring the Cage. Death wouldn't have liked that. Could be a motive for him to let Sam go. But then again I've specualted that Sam wasn't in the cage and that waivers with my specualtion that Lucifer popped him out. UGH! Iz

Ohhh i have to go look for the battery , lol was it to bring Bobby back if he flatlined?

I think Death said he had to go to Hell to get Sam's cage , not the Cage, I will check that too...

Rachel is in ep 20 too but that is a flashback ep I think.

I liked Sam remembering the trapdoor. I was waiting for a matching Hell memory flinch or seizure again though...

Just rewatched the relevant part of Appointment in Samarra. Death did indeed say he was going to Hell to get Sam's soul, not the Cage.

It may be nothing, but it is interesting nonetheless.

EEEEEEEE! Flail!

I loved this one SO MUCH!

Yes, souls are power sources somehow, that's why Cas has been stealing them, and being all morally ambiguous, and I love it! And Sam & Dean's souls may very well be extra powerful, given everything.

ALSO: DEAN BOUGHT SAM CLOTHES. FOR HIS FETISH. AND SAM THOUGHT IT WAS STUPID BUT HE WORE THEM ANYWAY, BECAUSE HE WANTS DEAN TO BE HAPPY. That's totally what happened, right?

LOL yes Sam put on the shirt Dean bought for him - and the belt presumably, but I think the jeans were Sam's already. I wonder what pants Dean bought for Sam....

LOL. I loved Sam giving him his blackberry AKA magic brick AKA thingamagig.

Castiel has had his hands in a lot of people. There was also that kid that was "touched by an angel" o.0

I just keep thinking about Noir. I keep thinking about Touch of Evil -- it seems to me like Cas is being corrupted by his role as Sheriff. How far will he go? meep, poor Cas.

Very true. I really wonder where this is going to end up. Is it going to turn out that Castiel took over Hell? I mean think about it. He's fighting for freedom, against the script. He's angering other angels to the point where they are trying to kill him. He's using humans as fuel.

Sounds a wee bit like Lucifer, doesn't it?

Or it could be that Castiel really does think he's doing the right thing but has had to make some really shady deals (with Purgatory or Hell- I'm not ruling out either) to ensure his victory.

I also really want to know how Balthazar fits into all of this. He's following Castiel's orders currently (or at least he was as of 6x17) - does he have anything to do with Castiel's current strategy? Balthazar was the first angel to mention buying souls.

I'm thinking that's why Sam and Dean were archangel vessels, because the angels feed on their vessels' souls to keep form on earth, and Sam and Dean's souls are superawesome or something. Maybe that's why Raphael's former vessel was a drooling mess. I like where this is going.

It would explain a whole lot. We know that in 'The End' Lucifer!Sam survived completely intact. I'm guessing in the case of the 'true' vessels- Sam and Dean, they can't be depleted.

What I also really like about this is it once again blurs the lines between the two sides. How is what Famine did (consume souls to grow stronger) any different from what Castiel did to Bobby (and I'm guessing Sam too since we know he touched Sam's soul)

Very, very interesting.

Famine also said Sam was made to never suffer from too much blood, so I think that goes along with it. Although that makes his comment about Dean not having much soul left really interesting. Can souls regenerate their energy? Is that part of their strength, like Death said, to be able to regain strength?

I'm still wondering what the horsemen were. They weren't demons, they weren't angels. They actually can't be killed, just depowered. And it seems like Lucifer harnessed them unlawfully, like Death, which is why Pestilence had no problem trying to kill Sam and Dean.

I don't actually think Cas is going around bad-touching live people actually. We've never seen the grace coming out of his eyes things, until Bobby, so I don't think he did it to Sam while the soul was in Sam's body. And it didn't seem like he was lying for once, when he said he never wanted to do that again. I think he's harvesting souls, as they die which is why Death told Dean to get involved, because Cas is screwing with Death's numbers. He might be marking ( ... )

That is an excellent point about Famine's comment to Dean. Maybe Dean's soul was depleted from his stay in Hell?

The Horsemen are their own species I think. I agree, they can't be killed. I'm starting to wonder if that is true for souls too. Is that the biggest twist of all? No human soul ever dies? Maybe all the demons, ghosts, etc that Sam & Dean killed ended up in Purgatory?

I think you're onto something regarding Castiel. That would definitely explain why Death is so interested.

Crowley was definitely a patsy.
