Yep my first thought was Zeke is sucking soul. I just typed a response to you ane accidentally deleted it! Ugh. Basically everything you said. They are giving us good stuff this season. Jody Mills rocks and the mystery is killing me. Who is Zeke?
The dragons hunting for virgins thingy bugged me. If I recall correctly, weren't the dragons only collecting virgins because Eve commanded them to? Then again, I can't remember if the Winchesters were ever made aware of that...so, nevermind. *derp*
I liked this episode. JODY WINS ALL THE AWARDS FOR BADASSNESS! *u* And team Sam/Jody is just too adorable for words. <3
And she thinks Dean & Sam have something special? I do too. Even if they lie to each other. What was it Zachariah said? Psychotically, irrationally, erotically codependent? Damn straight.
You, Jody, and Zachariah are all spot-on. :D (This wasn't one of my favorite episodes, but Jody's badassery (and not!dying) and the beautiful brotherly scene at the end saved it. I cannot wait to find out what's up with Zeke (and am liking your soul-sucking analogy very much!)
But can it survive Dean letting something take Sam over and allowing Sam to feel that any oddity is due to a defect in Sam himself. Dean is feeding the exact feelings that Sam had last year of unworthyness and impurity that led Sam to believe the world and Dean would be better with him dead. Sam should know what is going on with his body and if he really doesn't want to live this way, he should have that option. At the very least he should know that HE is truly not the one that is off,or wrong or insane. Instead Dean is letting that continue.
When Sam finds out what Dean did he will feel betrayed and furious and he'll leave for a while. Dean will have to work to regain that trust.
What I'm very curious about, especially considering this episode's revelations is if Sam will be worse off after he ejects Ezekiel. And who will end up healing Sam?

(Trying to forget who the writers are and pretend Edlund is doing it)
And yes Jared is doing those Sam-Ezekiel transitions sooo well!

I've seen the next trailer and kinda hoping Zeke's deliciously evil now. Jared hasn't had a chance to do dark for a while :D
