...you forgot Dio's Rainbow In The Dark from the earworm list :D
My childhood friend had a jewelbox-music box with a mechanic ballerina that would spin around to Somewhere Over The Rainbow when you open the lid, that she got as a birthday present when she turned 8. I could play that tune on piano before I even got to know what its name was (because it was just "the ballerina box song", hee!) - my mom recognised the song when I was playing it on some keyboard in the toy aisle of some shop next Christmas (funnily enough that keyboard had color-coded keys to the rainbow theme - but then quite many children's toy instruments have). Took me probably years before I could connect that to rainbows, but I still think of that ballerina box every time I hear it.
If I could have made a better poll I would have tried to include an area to list the earworms people associate with events. TV commercials do that to us, they take a song we love and make us think of their damn products.
Carly Simon was my first sell-out musician along that route ;o)
Since you asked... first one I thought of was the DoubleRainbow song meme .. :D ...
I do associate songs with experiences sometimes... but not often with just a random experience igniting a soundtrack in my head ^v^ .. usually... unless it is suggested, like you did here.... :D
Songs appear like clouds taking on shapes (oops, that brings Judy Collins to mind). Moreover I recall songs that were playing during a time or place and that works, too. The mind's a funny thing...
