Life update

Feb 11, 2013 20:10

So, I've been neglecting my journals minus posting links to my average works of fiction. I don't really know what the problem is; I used to blog frequently when I was an undergrad and in high school, but I suppose now I just feel that my life is just so damn monotonous that no one would actually give a crap ( Read more... )

Your fics aren't average works of fiction omg :| But I totally get you on the whole monotonous life feel, I'm feeling pretty much the same :\ That, and when I do actually have something to talk about, I write it and just go "wtf no" and delete it and replace it with a photo of nail polish or something. We are both equally terrible?

We've got an exercise bike in the house... ... my dad used it as a clothes rack and I do my best to just ignore it. I think if you don't have the motivation to fully push yourself into exercising, an exercise machine isn't going to make much difference :C No matter how big it would be, I know they're pretty easy to just ignore >_>

SIGH, work :(

Do PhD, do PhD \:D/ Get your PhD with me \:D/

SHH. I'm only happy with maybe 5 fics of the 300+ I've written. That's not a good number.

At least you write it out before deleting it. I just think "HEY I SHOULD WRITE AN ENTRY" then... nah, better not.

Very true, but I need to do something. Going on a diet isn't working, so there has to be another way to help.

I KNOW.

You are a horrid enabler.

At least you don't absolutely loathe some of the ones you've written? Being "meh" towards them and only liking a few is better than that, right?

Hahahha, sometimes, anyway. Some days I do the same as you. And sometimes I post even, and just delete it straight away. It's kind of a terrible cycle and then I get guilty because I haven't posted so I try to post and then it's like "no one wants to hear this" so I don't post and adjf ldsjfls guilt cycle.

You will sort something out I'm sure c:

LET"S JUST SIGH SOME MORE ABOUT WORK. SIGH.

Heeee c: <3 I know you love me for it.

I think I will.

I'm already using a calorie counter that's pretty damn awesome. I used My Fitness Pal in the past and it wasn't as comprehensive as I would've liked.

I think I found a low impact machine that'll help. And really, the knee pain will lessen when I lose the weight.

Thank you though.

I'm not sure I deserve a 'thank you' for basically saying "Yeah, this sucks! Suck it!" XD

One thing I just remembered which might be really worth checking; do you know what your basal metabolic rate is? I found the internet will tell you that a woman needs 2000 kcal/day but I had my daily burn rate measured at the gym and (due to all the serious desk riding I do), mine is only at 1345. So if I want to diet to loose weight, I need to be under that amount daily. Since some restaurant dishes can be over that number alone, I think it's really useful to know where you personally are.

My parents have offered to buy me a heart rate monitor as an extremely early birthday present. Apparently, it awards you cups when you do well at the fitness goals it suggests. I WANT CUPS :| (I feel this easily led strategy could work well for me...)

Perhaps not, but nonetheless.

Mine is right under 2000. I'm pretty careful when I go out to eat to make sure I don't get anything too high in calories.

Cups of what?

^^ THIS. ALL THE TIME. But I want to read all your thoughts. :)

Buying an exercise machine sounds reasonable. I thought of buying an elliptical before - for when the weather is shitty or for when I am. Since I don't have one, though, I tend to think that if I DID have one, it would solve all the problems, lol. But it would be definitely harder to talk myself out of exercising after paying for a machine.

Your hair sounds beautiful! How nice to have colors!! :D

I'm juggling treadmill vs bike vs elliptical. I don't know which yet.

That's cool. If you want a bottle & don't want to buy it, may I do it as a bday present?
