See, I told you you should have a go, and look what you did! I'm all verklempt! *sniffle*. ;)
I love the idea of Billy saying the wrong thing at the wrong moment! Not something I'd had in mind, but easily imaginable and very plausible. And I really love Dom's nonplussed reaction and his confusion over Billy's angst, as well as Billy's desire to keep everything under (his) control.
Since I missed the free-for-all day, thanks to life, I'll post my ending after Wednesday on my own journal, but do feel free to continue this in whatever way you see fit, if you so desire. Thank you so much for playing in the tiny little sandbox I set up! :D:D:D
I really didn't know where I was going with it, but it was the first thing that came to mind that I thought would get to Billy the most (his son vs his true feelings for Dom.) Some situation that left that inarguable would force a crisis, and there you go...
The rest is still a little muddled yet in my head from this point on, but I've one or two ideas as to where it could go. It may be a little while before I get back to it, but I never really know.
I thought your story provided tremendous inspiration. That's what's really needed, at least for me. Thank you for letting me borrow it. :)
