Wow! It's over. I can't believe it. The other kids organized a party for Mom at Zilker Park in Austin and we bbq'd hot dogs & had a really wonderful get-together & then presented the quilt to her.

Paul called me at work yesterday & said that the box arrived undamaged. WooHoo! It's actually happening! I'm so excited. Can't wait to see everyone! Love ya'!

Okay, here is the absolute last set of pictures of the quilt. It has the borders & the corners done. It is COMPLETELY done! :) I am so excited for it to be done! :) Tom's going to take care of shipping it for me next week. I can't wait to see everybody & I can't wait to give this to Mom. It's done! Much dancing & singing & generally happy things going on in the Hanlon household tonight (if I had the energy). I am done with the quilt. Cassie's prom is tonight, so Jan borrowed the camera, so I can't post pictures til tomorrow, but I will get some up there. Well, I've accomplished my goal for this weekend. All the rows have been sewn together. Tom & I laid it on our bed (a queen size) & it covered the surface quite nicely. I was terrified it was going to be too small, but it looks like just the size I was hoping it would be. There are definitely some not-so-straight lines in there, but please ( Read more... )

I went to the fabric store & got the batting for the in-between (the thin stuff, so Mom might actually use it! :) ) and the material for the back & the border. Here are a few more pictures of progress of sewing the rows together. Love everybody!

Wow. I think the pictures make the quilt! Please remember that this is my first quilt & I'm not an expert at this stuff (so some of the seams are not as straight as I'd like), but I really think the picture part of this is turning out terrific.
