Aw, what a frustrating visit to the doctor. It sounds like he knows your family so well that he kind of forgot he needs to treat you as a patient and not a friend or family! MRIs don't always show inflammation, so it's pretty common to go to a steroid shot if nothing is seen on the MRI. It's a good thing that nothing shows up on the MRI in the hip - but MRIs don't always tell you everything that's going on, only that there's no big tears or breaks or bad arthritis.
As for the thing on your ovary - you're right, it's probably nothing, but you do need to get it looked at.
And then go back and get the injection. It's not really surgery, they probably just book it that way so you get better care when you get it. If it helps, you'll be glad you got it, and if it doesn't, at least you tried. And then you can ask about physical therapy and things like that to get the soft tissue moving again.
Shannon--I was hoping for your words of wisdom. It *is* nice to have a doctor around when hysterical. I will consider what you said. It is NOT that I don't trust him. As I said, he is sort of a famiy friend and I have known him all my life. In fact, his brother and I were in the same church youth group and we are friends on FB. So, maybe he just figured I would just go along with his medical plan and not be someone who needed some information. The thing is....I am never the patient. I just don't really get sick or have issues that are medical. In fact, I don't have a general physician. The closest thing to that I have is my GYN.
Thanks K! I feel very confident that she is going to say it was just an egg...but, poor Michael is so confused b/c he didnt' think I had eggs anymore.....LOL
I know how you're feeling, V. If I didn't have Cory's uncle to go to then I would have gone into my surgery not knowing exactly what I have. And I'm rarely sick. In fact the only problems I've had in recent years have been w/ my knee/foot w/ running.
Anyway, maybe you should find a different doctor. Someone who will be a doctor and not a family friend. It's an idea....
Sorry you had such a frustrating visit with the doctor. I hope that the ovary thing is just an egg and an easy fix. (((hugs))) I hope your hip feels better soon!

As for the rest, if the shot helps I say go for it,just try it. If it doesn't, don't do it again. That seems weird, that it's a surgical procedure.
