Her husband sounds like a control freak. I may be wrong here but those types become abusers and i'd keep an eye on him if i were you. If you see or suspect any kind of abuse, get her out of there.

We know. We have given her choices and advice, and she understands. But she insists on staying with him. I put up with his bullshit just to keep my relationship with her until she decides she wants out. We can't force her to leave.
