Random Buffyverseness (BtVS s7, AtS s4)

Jul 18, 2007 22:06

I recall hearing that people overall preferred Angel to Buffy, as a series. I'm now wondering if that was a "last word" effect. Namely, Angel ran for a year after Buffy ended, and although I haven't seen Angel's final season yet (nor even the majority of season 4), I am fairly confident in saying it's better than most of Buffy seasons 6 and 7. But ( Read more... )

Yay for Holden! He definitely is cute :) Someone in Joss-land must think so too, because they re-use the actor in both Angel and Firefly (as a completely different character! That wasn't an Angel spoiler, promise :) )

He did seem sort of familiar...who was he in Firefly?

He played Mal & Zoe's war-buddy, Tracey, in "The Message" :)

To me, comaparing Buffy and Angel is like comparing "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" and "To Wong Foo." Sure TECHNICALLY they're both about dragqueens on road trips, but the buck stops there.

I don't think A&B should be held up against each other.

Fair enough to me. Buffy's more the coming-of-age, small-town saga; Angel's the grown-up urban professional saga. Different genres almost.

There may be disagreement in people's opinions of Connor, but pretty much everyone agrees that Dawn is annoying.

I actually enjoyed 'Spin the Bottle', if only for the return of Wesley in Princess Margaret mode and poor little Liam in modern LA ("Demons, everywhere!" "What kind?" "Shiny!")

'Conversations...' got to be the first truly scary episode since 'Hush' - the stuff with Dawn in the house alone and dead Joyce appearing behind her in the lightning flashes made me wibble quite a lot.

Oh yes, I meant to say that Dawn alone in the house with the ghosts was actually quite scary! When the heck are the people of Sunnydale, especially those connected to Buffy, going to learn that they should never be home alone or walk down alleys?

when Buffy almost kills Principal Wood with a rocket launcher, but gets tackled and chased off by Spike--all done silently and casually in the blurry background.
To me, that bit of physical comedy is possibly the funniest scene in Buffy. OMG. HILARIOUS.

OMG ANGEL S4. *glee*

See, I love it when you recap because I forget a lot of these episodes, especially the Angel ones. And the rocket launcher bit. Damn it. Now I want to rewatch.

I'm still hoping that the complete Angel set will one day come out like the Buffy one, but I'm thinking maybe I should go ahead and purchase separately.
