Okay, you did a really good job of selling Twin Peaks to me. It's been on my list for a while because people I trust consistently tell me I'd love it, but I just hadn't gotten around to it. This makes me very, very excited to check it out. I love genre-busting, I love weird, I love great characters, I love shows that look awesome....Yeah. I'm gonna check it out! Thanks!
I can't believe there are people who dislike Never Again! It has a talking Jodie Foster tattoo! Scully gets some! And Mulder is befuddled in the end.
Paper Hearts has probably MY fave M/S scene, as Scully cradling his head to her stomach just KILLS me.
As for Twin Peaks...I love that story in the extras about how Lynch's whole pitch was basically, "There's a murder in a small-town and there's this *wind* in the *trees*." Heeee. It's one of those series where everytime I've finished it, I kind of want to start it again.
Heh, I think this is a key reason as to why some people don't like it. In fact, I've read arguments about how Scully really slept on the couch all night.
Oh, come on. I love Mulder/Scully as much as the next crazy shipper, but the poor woman deserved to get laid after the years of frustration he put her through. I looked the ep up on wikipedia, and apparently there WAS initially an actual sex scene but Carter insisted it be cut. Interesting.
Yeah, I wish the writers of that ep, Morgan & Wong, had gotten to do it their way. It would have aired before Leonard Betts, not after, and Scully would have definitely had sex. I really don't know why Carter was so insistent on keeping her celibate.
I remember someone once doing a Buffy-verse poll, where one of the questions was 'Who'd you want with you on a desert island?' I still remember my two favourite replies:
Connor, because he grew up in hell and would know everything about surviving in the wild, and
Illyria, because she could walk home and fetch help.
Exactly. You need people who will help you survive, people that will help you escape. There's no enjoying a desert island without cable or internet access!
It's weird. Look, there's no getting around this fact, but for some of us it's a definite plus. Twin Peaks was created by director David Lynch, and he kind of specializes in weird. So there are, in fact, dancing dwarves and solemn giants and a hunchback in a brothel and a fish in the percolater. You either enjoy this kind of thing or you don't, but I certainly do.
It's a huge plus, especially since when it debuted there hadn't been anything as weird on television.
And you're right about the look - and the feel. Also something not seen before - and sadly not really since.

Bad Blood
Always a toss-up between Chung and Bad Blood for me. Super hyper Mulder is awesome.
I've always thought someone should write a B/S reunion fic where they both tell alternate versions of the story.
