Heeeee, congratulations!

I have LJ to partially thank for my marriage as well: hyounpark and I sang together in college, then lost touch after graduation. Some summer day, I'm bored and googling the members of our old singing group, and what should the second result be for him but HIS LIVEJOURNAL. And one of the most recent entries was "Hey, I just bought a house in Boston!"

... of course, I then went out and had two more long-term boyfriends before we ended up together, but hey ;) It worked out in the end!

Ha, awesome! These modern kids with their match.coms don't know how good the old classics are.

Yay, congratulations! Or is it best wishes? Or is that only for the actual wedding day? (I fail at Emily Post.)

Ha, apparently it's best wishes to the bride and congratulations to the groom! Which I only know because my mother lives in another era. Either way, thank you!

The first time I heard about that I thought it was so funny. Sort of a shorthand way of saying: "Hey, groom, consider yourself lucky anyone would have you." "Oh, and bride? May the lord have mercy on your soul. Let's just hope he doesn't drag you down to his level."

Heh!

You also learned this from Mrs. Emily Gilmore.

THAT IS SO GREAT. Being engaged is terrific! Being married is the best! Planning the wedding sucks, haha, until you figure out what you really want at least. Still, lots of fun in perspective!

ALL OF THE CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU and the lucky mister too :D

Haha, well, my wedding was sort of unconventional I guess, because we're lazy and cheap. We had 60 people for brunch in an old mill I had never heard of before (my strategy was googling "[place I like] + restaurant" and then checking out what seemed fun), and by 3 or 4pm most people were gone, either home or to the nearby cottage my in-laws had rented. Husband and I were in our hotel room at like 6pm, with plenty of time to read cards and use the gigantic bathtub and relax ( ... )

YAY, this is awesome, thank you!! I just read something recently about brunch weddings and thought it sounded awesome! Because who doesn't love brunch?? And I love the idea about just finding a nice-looking place and not worrying about it. Plus ooh, I hadn't thought of website RSVPs, I like it. (Tho' were older/non-computery people weird about it?)

Don't try to make this the happiest day of your life.

This seems very wise and deep! I will take it to heart. A++ sir. <3 <3

Congratulations! What wonderful news!

Who knew heteronormativity could be so fun?

I think I love you for that.

Thank you! I always thought a grownup relationship would be boring, but so far so awesome!
