When I was traveling, I met so many people. On my very first day in Canada, I met a girl from New Zealand who was staying at my hostel, looking for an apartment. I went to the Rockies for a week and when I went back to the city, she'd found a place and invited me to stay with her. I ended up living there for two weeks. Same thing goes for all the amazing people on my flist who offered me a bed and fantastic company even though they'd never met me.
I've always been raised to be careful around strangers, but for some reason I'm naturally a very trusting person, and I've always been lucky enough not to have it backfire. But it's amazing, the amount of kindness and generosity you encounter sometimes, especially when you're traveling. It's given me a lot more faith in the human race.
That's really neat that you met a nice stranger in that way, and it certainly feels good to do a kind thing for such a stranger. I don't have many opportunities for random chance like that, since I work nights and folks generally aren't awake when I am. I look forward to such encounters in the future!
