Just so you know, "unknown artist" doesn't mean "unknown." Just not known for art.

He applied to an art school and was rejected.
Some people feel this may have been one of the roots of his anti-semitism as several of those involved on the selection committee were Jewish. He is known to have been very bitter about not getting a placement.

I missed two. I was guessing based on composition. Winston Churchill did a nice job with the nuns and I never have liked Cezanne.
