Long time no post. I mostly just tweet now. Two months ago I had brain surgery. Let's blame my lack of posting on that and not on me being a lazy whore attracted to small sound bites. I've got wonderful friends and family. Everyone has been so supportive. Yesterday at Spaghetti western night, harpinred made this awesome maple walnut pie. And J made a salad and she and S brought me a hat, super soft socks, and a T-shirt, K brought me two of those motorcycle head scarves, and D told the most hilarious stories about my dogs, which she will ( Read more... )

I've been absent from LJ a lot lately, but I just thought I'd poke my head and say happy birthday to dianora2 and to say that the surgery is coming up on the 28th of this month, so I'm a little freaked out and a bit of a video game vegetable. It's probably going to be about month before I return to my regularly scheduled personality.

It's our anniversary today. We got back from our beach vacation yesterday. We had a really good time with dianora2, bbennett, harpinred and intopolitics. It's was a smaller group this year, but it was still a lot of fun, and let's face it, a lot easier to get a table at a restaurant. It was nice to get away for awhile and get a change of scenery. bbennett finished knitting the hat I will be wearing to cover the Frankenstein staples I'll be sporting for a week after the surgery. It's very pretty cream colored lace. I'll try not get any blood on it, because it's too cute just to wear to cover up the gruesome.

I've decided to nothing about my hair for the surgery. I'm just going to go tomorrow and get it cut just below my shoulders where I like it and I'm not going to think about it anymore until after surgery and if it's a horrible pain in the ass to deal with then we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. So there.

My surgery is scheduled for September 28th. My pre-operative consultation is on 9/24 at 9:00 am. I have pre-operative testing on the 25th. We have to be at Johns Hopkins on the 28th at 6:30 am for the pre-op CT scan. Surgery is scheduled for 7:30 am. I should be getting a packet in the mail that outlines every little detail, but I know my post-op ( Read more... )

A couple of days ago, I had a dream that dianora2 kept yelling at me to stop being such a wuss. Meanwhile, she was dragging in me into these very scary activities like bungee jumping and motorcycling on very narrow roads at dangerously high speeds.
