Is it just me or did anyone else think it sounded like Bush was getting sworn in by Darth Vader? Yes, yes, I am a terrible person to say such a thing since the man is obviously being held together by sinew and spit. But, hey, I calls 'em as I sees 'em.

One of the many reasons I like Seattle...according to my office spies, people are wearing black armbands in various buildings around town today. At 2pm there is a protest and funeral procession (presumably lamenting our future) scheduled. They expect somewhere between 2000 and 5000 people. Last night I had to say farewell to a trusted friend and sassy fashion accessory. Helga, the cow-spotted umbrella, met a painful death in a gust of wind between 3rd and 4th avenues. She was turned inside out, breaking her delicate spine in 5 places. It was mercifully quick. She will be missed.
