The weather forecasts all say sunny today, but it's overcast from the smoke of many fires around the north state. I'm grateful that so far none of them are closer than 90 miles away, but you know it's bad when the smoke is evident this far away. Hugs and more hugs...taking a printout of the latest chapter with me for my reading pleasure, thank you kindly.

kayaking was much longer today than expected, but mostly very pleasant (still, 8 hours is more time than i meant to be on the river.)

From 1969 to 2003 and only the love of my life could tear me away...that and the beauty of the Sierra foothills. But I miss El Indio's taquitos with a fiery passion, so I'm blissful about getting a fix.

Poor California! This year we've had the first major wildfires in NC since I moved here, and smelling the smoke on the wind was almost nostalgic ...

Happy travels, then, and esp. happy rivers! (happy father's day, too, if you managed it.)
