"Are you trying to make me rethink my commitment to myself about being good for your mother?" he asked teasingly, quirking a brow as she explained that her parents slept no where near her room. Thomas really hadn't intended on being extremely well-behaved while he was at the Blacks (at least not about sneaking into her room at night -- he was definitely going to do that now that she'd pointed out he wouldn't risk running into her mother in the hall), but he found her reason for he didn't really need to be on his best behaviour quite entertaining ( ... )

"Oh, don't try to get out of it. You have a date now, so your mother can't possibly be upset with you. It's only your youngest sister that needs to hurry up and find someone to take with her, yeah? I heard her mention something about a Howler from your mother if she doesn't start taking it seriously," Thomas laughed.

Leaning over slightly, he pressed a light kiss to her lips. "No, you really don't need to send anything. My father is... well, a git, to be honest. He wouldn't appreciate the effort, so I don't want you wasting your time on him."

Thomas couldn't help the grin that stretched across his lips. "Don't think I won't suggest we play that in class, because I will," he promised.

Thomas laughed. "She sounds like a delightful woman."

"Curious about what? His reason for staying in St. Mungo's or why I don't think he'd appreciate any effort you put into giving him a gift?" he asked, before narrowing his eyes playfully at her and adding, "And I do not have a temper." He moved an inch or two away from her, his lips taking on an over-exaggerated pout.

With an exasperated sigh, he agreed, "I suppose you're right. I'll have to think of something else I can do to slowly get our house points taken away rather than have it all done at one time."
