“Thanks. We’re a good team”, Jack said with a genuine smile.
He hauled the unconscious weevil into the SUV then turned back to Ianto. “It’s quite the adrenaline rush, isn’t it?” Jack smirked, not even trying to hide his arousal.
“I, um, yes it is.” Ianto stammered.
Jack shoved his hands into his pockets and stared at his boots. The cocky swagger was gone from his voice as he said “After we deal with our friend here, maybe we could, you know, lend each other a helping hand?”
If Ianto didn’t know better he’d swear the great Captain sounded nervous.
