I, for one, would much rather stare at a frozen computer monitor for hours on end than have to deal with some of the crazies at my job:

"What? No, I haven't had a chance to process that waiver of a critical degree program requirement that could get our accreditation revoked if it goes through that you wanted for that guy who doesn't want to take a research course 'cause he stubbed his pinky toe in the second week of class and the excruciating pain kept him from logging on to the course even though he accesses it from a laptop he can (and often does) use in bed... I was too busy staring at my frozen monitor all yesterday. Sorry." =P

(And the sad thing is? That excuse might actually generate less flak than "No we can't do it 'cause the Registrar said not to." XP)
