Ok, those of you who really knows what goes on with me on a daily basis, knows that my co-worker (whom I share an office with) is the bane of my work existence. Well here is just one example of what I deal with consistently and daily.
She comes in this morning, sits down, turns on her computer and lays her pile of data entry in front of her. I'm doing my own thing. About 20 minutes later when I finish doing my thing, I look over at her and she is in exactly the same spot, staring at a blank computer screen that has no icons. Well just glancing at her computer, I deduce that it is not booting up...you know...frozen. Hey, it happens.
Now my co-worker knows that I am computer savvy. I'm all the time helping people out in the office with computer bugs. Do you think she asks me to help her? Do you think she says anything AT ALL to indicate she's having a problem. Hell no!! She would rather just sit there and stare at a frozen computer monitor.
Finally our supervisor comes in. She promptly gets up and goes and tells him all about the problem. (I can hear this conversation in the hallway.) He asks her if she's turned it off. Of course, she says no. So he waltzes in, presses the ON/OFF button in for 5 seconds and powers it down. Yeah, real genius. Now I pose to you...WHY couldn't she have just asked me for help? She has asked me for computer help before. But because of her stubborness and/or lack of intelligence I am thrown behind in my work. You see, my job depends on her entering in her batch of data entry. Le sigh...
Something I'm thankful for: Being able to think logically.
