Uhmmmm, if Meyer's had a big plan to have a huge LOL on all the people trying to steal her book before it was actually supposed to be published, it wouldn't be very intelligent of her to have it published with Breaking Down as the title if she was going to trick us, now would it? If you were going to trick everyone into thinking your parody of a book was the book itself, you would actually make it look like the book.
I doubt the one that was leaked is the parody. More likely the parody was just a short story with stuff Smeyer thinks the fans wouldn't like -- like Edward and Bella not living happily ever after and Bella not being turned or something.
Yeah, like that one thing someone said in fandom_wank:
You know, if this isn't the parody copy (and it probably isn't) and the parody copy is supposed to be full of stuff that Smeyer is sure will piss off the fandom ... maaaan, now I really want to see the parody copy.
"... and then Bella went off to college like Edward asked her to, and while there she broadened her mind, drank at a couple of parties, experimented with kissing her roommate, got some hobbies, went to spring break in Mexico, dated a couple of guys who weren't so clingy, engaged in premarital sex, had a pregnancy scare, signed up for some credit cards she promptly ran up the balances on buying beer with her new fake ID, had a slight nervous breakdown after the fall semester and spent the entirety of her spring semester talking for an hour every Tuesday and Thursday with one of the psych students.
By the time summer rolled around she hadn't called either Jacob or Edward for months and didn't even know what she'd seen in those creepy stalkers anyway.
Yeah but if SMeyer wrote the parody herself, it's not hard to reuse quotes from the REAL BD and put them in into Breaking Down.
Personally, I feel that the leaks are real. SMeyer is not that thorough and who writes 285+ just for "fun"/backup? Nah. I'm not 100% sure, though. I don't think anyone can be until the book comes out.

But we would look like total douche bags. I would still laugh though.
