It is pretty good! I used to make my own using wasabi paste and kewpie mayo, but I don't know if the kewpie is GF or not.

And I hope so too. :)

Do you like quinoa pasta better than Tinkyada brand rice pasta, though? I thought Tinkyada came *very* close to the flavor and texture of regular wheat pasta.

Tinkyada is pretty darn close, but I've found that I have to take it off the burner way earlier than the package calls for (as in 10 minutes as opposed to 16-17) in order to get the al dente bite. I'm interested in hearing about quinoa pasta too!

Oooh. Tempura would be awesome. The hubs was so sad when I told him we couldn't order tempura and his favorite tempura shrimp roll at sushi dinners anymore. The eel is out too I guess. I've never seen cooked eel that is non-BBQed. Maybe it is out there though.

You've been baking GF for so long! Do you make your own flour or do you use one of the prepared mixes? To begin with, I think I am looking for a good white roll recipe, and maybe something that makes good toast.

Is the texture of quinoa like pasta? I had a bad experience with a quinoa loaf a couple of years back and haven't tried it again since. I could be convinced to try a pasta though -- any brands in particular?

Thanks!!

good luck! I did an elimination diet and found that I'm intolerant to dairy and wheat. I'm beginning to think I may have a soy intolerance also.

hope your hubs feels better!

so I've been looking for the molds you use for your hard boiled eggs, but I can't find any! I've looked at the bento store on ebay to no avail. is there another place to find them? what are they originally used for so I can search google for them?

You can use cute ice cream sandwich molds from Williams Sonoma as egg molds, onigiri molds, cookie cutters, and ice cream sandwich molds -- check out my blog entry and tutorial at http://ss-biggie.livejournal.com/4356.html#cutid1 They're $14 for three (pig, cow and star shapes).

I've only seen those particular ones on The Bento Store - you should email the seller to see when she might get more in. I saw fish, car, rabbit, and bear molds at Store in Japan on eBay (in links list). And they are meant for eggs originally. HTH!
