LJ suspended a number of communities and individual users, including some fake RPG journals, because they had "incest" and/or several other terms in their interest lists. You can find links to most of the information about this on this journalfen post. But journalfen is acting wonky tonight, so you can also check out liz=marcs' journal, beginning with this entry.

Wait, what? I thought that LJ suspending people thing was just an unfounded rumour. What is WfI?

Not quite unfounded, though it wasn't exactly 100% true, either. They have definitely suspended comms and users at the behest of a Watch Dog comm. They suspended pornish_pixies and several other comms today. See this entry on journalfen and/or this entry by liz-marcs for more details.

I think LJ is going to through a massive knee-jerk reaction right now on this subject. They were feeling some heat and this was the result.

Idiotic, yes, but it's hard to say that we wouldn't do the same thing if we weren't in their position, no matter how much we might not want to do it.

Heh ... Your icon makes me think of Lucius getting the board to suspend Dumbledore in Book 2, which is so appropriate to the situation! It does sound like WfI was applying a great deal of annoying pressure and it could have made them a bit crazy. I've been there myself when modding. ;) But I wish they would have taken a look at who they were suspending and in some cases issued warnings. Banning a Spanish language study group that was doing a group read of Lolita was just silly.

Supsending the Lolita group was decidedly silly, hence my gut feeling that there is some knee jerk going on.
