D and I watched Nature on PBS last night. It was all about “big” cats, only some of them weren’t so big. D doesn’t always pay attention to the TV, but he did last night, at least during the parts about big cats. He watched the lions, cheetahs and leopards with rapt attention. Awwwwww! That's possible, since I am his third human companion/home. I try to reassure him, but I can understand if it doesn't sink in.

Yep! My dad's little bichon frise had the same problem. He went from one home, to a second, to the SPCA, and finally to my dad. He never did feel completely secure.
