Looks like it's coming out on April 29th. (Or maybe May 6th - I'm confused.) Very cool. The ifilm link below has three clips. It looks good. Loved the campy British version, but I'm looking forward to seeing the blockbuster style remake ( Read more... )

I don't know, I liked the campy British version. It matched the books exactly. I have the radio show on cassette and it is hilarious to listen to. I will probably see the movie, if it gets good reviews. I read the book when I was 16. I laughed so hard I almost hurt myself.

The previews really look good. I was prepared to not like this version, but so far so good.

Still can't watch the new Battlestar Galactica on SF channel. The whole changing the gender two major characters is just wrong.

I've heard the new Battlestar is pretty good but I was a big fan of the two main stars and I just can't see it. But then, I wouldn't have remade the show. I would have done something new!

Yeah, I know what you mean.

But then you look at "Stargate". The transition from "Stargate", the movie, to "Stargate SG-1", the tv series, was really smooth. The actors playing Daniel could be stand-ins for each other.

I loved these books... and saw a bit of the campy british version and have radio tapes too. I think that they're perhaps the funniest things I have ever read. I sit and giggle like a loon when I'm reading them!

Douglas Adams was certainly one of a kind.
