So I get a message today telling me to call this man back without giving me any details about what it is about. I call him back and he tells me he has to pull up my file (as if I wasn't already confused), then he tells me about how I have an unpaid balance on my Discover card. This is news to me because I've never had a Discover card, nor have I ( Read more... )

It's experiences like that which really make you question people's integrity. You and your mother did such a good thing by inviting them into your homes and to take advantage like that is beyond anything I can describe. It's shocking and sigusting and for that woman to have the nerve to write a letter like that...

I'm just really sorry you and your mother are still having to deal with these things now and that their effects haven't worn off yet. I really hope the card gets sorted. I don't really have any ideas on what you can do as I don't have any cards either but I really truely hope your credit isn't ruined and hopefully you'll be able to put all this stuff behind.

As for those people, I truely believe that they'll get what they deserve eventually and suffer. To breach someone's trust like that is inhuman and I know that you know that all people aren't like that. I just hope the good kind fill up your life from now on :)

I'm kind of clueless about the whole process as well. I had wanted to ask the guy a few questions, but I didn't want to get upset because of how patient he was being about the whole situation. It wouldn't have been fair if I had gotten frustrated while he was being so nice, even if he would have realized that he wasn't the one I was upset with.

I kind of feel bad because I kind of hope they are in jail or something by now. They need to know it isn't right to do what they did because someone else will always pay for the scams they run.

And thank you, hun. :)

I'm really sorry this has all been dragged up again. Some people make me so mad...I despair for the world. I hope you get it all sorted as soon as possible. Did you even get the money back that was charged on all those cards? I can't believe that woman had the nerve to write that letter!

*hugs* You and your mother deserve so much better.

It's really annoying how some people can do such things and then even write a letter, expecting everything is ok, even though you and your mother are now having problems with the credit cards...hopefully your mother will be able to sort it all out as it truly would suck for you not to be able to get a credit card for something someone else you were kind enough to take care of did...

*hugs* Do keep us posted on how it all goes...

I am hoping it will all be sorted out. The idea of my credit taking a hit from this is making me extremely nervous.

My mother hasn't found all of the paperwork she might need yet, so hopefully I'll have something to report within a few days. *hugs*

Thank you, Kat. *hugs*

Unfortunately, my mother didn't get any of the money back. The man was too scared to even speak to my mother and the woman shrugged it off like it was no big deal. I don't think she completely understood that they had done something wrong.

Eww... I hope you can get the credit card thing settled. That sucks. Hopefully it's just amix up, because that would really not be cool to have your credit ruined before you have had the chance to get credit.

Very true. I'm trying hard not to go back into the habit of biting my nails while I wait for more information on the credit card and why it is in my name.

I hope it will all turn out ok.
You and your mother are great people for doing something that kind to complete strangers. What they did was selfish and mean.
I understand you must be very upset. But try to be optimistic about it.

Thanks, Anabela.

I was just frustrated about what they did to my mother when I wrote the post. It has been hard watching her go from having good credit to having bad credit and all of the trouble she has had to go through because of that. And since I don't have a car or a house yet, I can only imagine what I'd have to go through to get those things if my credit is ruined, even if it wasn't from my own doing. Another problem is the matter of control. I get edgy whenever someone else takes control of my life because of past experiences. I had finally been feeling like I had regained control of my life when this happened.

*hug* I hate for this to happen all over again. I just can't believe some people ya know? The nerve of the woman to even write a letter like that. You and your family don't deserve this, I hope this mess gets cleared up soon. *hug* :)

lol. I know you've heard my rants about them plenty of times. They sure do know how to ruin a person's day. :) *hugs back*

And they won't anymore! I'm taking them back! "I'm taking them all back!"

I feel the need to watch The Goonies now. Then The Lost Boys because seeing Corey Feldman in the first movie will make me anxious to get my vampire flick fix. lol.

*huggles* Excuse me, I didn't get much sleep last night. :P
