The future of this LiveJournal account

I don't even know if I have anyone who watches this LiveJournal account anymore, but if you do, you can clearly see that I haven't been keeping it up. For a while I had it set to crosspost from my main blog (www.demimonde.com) but for some reason, due to some bizarre CDN setting that I probably screwed up while in a drunken fog, the images either ( Read more... )

I've often tried to go back to a conversation only to find it buried under a ton of "bubble game" notices that I haven't yet bothered myself to turn off.

Hi there! It's hard for me to remember to go over to other people's blogs, and for some reason FB buried you from my acct (so I actually went over to your page to get you -back- onto my FB feed....sheesh....it shouldn't be that hard!)

LJ is just a better format. It brings people's blogs to me, and doesn't decide for me which ones are my friends and which ones aren't....

I still look at my friend list fairly often, too, even though I don't post. I've been thinking about doing what you say. I like the friends-lock capability and the fact that neither my mom nor my m-i-l are on LJ. FB is getting too full.

That's the other thing I like about G+. I can swear and be raunchy over there without worrying about my MIL or SIL seeing it. Not that I'd think they'd really mind, but you know, sometimes it's nice to keep the perversion on the inside. :-)

So much to think about ... mkhobson March 28 2013, 16:42:57 UTC
Thank you for all the comments! So it looks like it's probably a good idea to continue to crosspost from my main site to my LiveJournal and Dreamwidth accounts. But now I have to figure out the best way to do that, given the way my site is set up. All my images are hosted on a CDN (Amazon S3) and if I use an autocrossposter, what happens is the post gets crossposted with the URL of the image *before* it is synched to the CDN. Once it's synched to the CDN, however, the URL changes, and then the image that WAS crossposted to LiveJournal is no longer valid ( ... )
