The future of this LiveJournal account

I don't even know if I have anyone who watches this LiveJournal account anymore, but if you do, you can clearly see that I haven't been keeping it up. For a while I had it set to crosspost from my main blog (www.demimonde.com) but for some reason, due to some bizarre CDN setting that I probably screwed up while in a drunken fog, the images either ( Read more... )

So much to think about ... mkhobson March 28 2013, 16:42:57 UTC
Thank you for all the comments! So it looks like it's probably a good idea to continue to crosspost from my main site to my LiveJournal and Dreamwidth accounts. But now I have to figure out the best way to do that, given the way my site is set up. All my images are hosted on a CDN (Amazon S3) and if I use an autocrossposter, what happens is the post gets crossposted with the URL of the image *before* it is synched to the CDN. Once it's synched to the CDN, however, the URL changes, and then the image that WAS crossposted to LiveJournal is no longer valid.

This problem is solved if I don't use an automatic crossposter (if I actually go in and manually share the post after all the CDN-ification is complete) but I'm already manually sharing posts to Twitter, Facebook and G+ (not because of the CDN issue, BTW ... different problem) and honestly don't want to have to be logging in to two more sites every time I write a post ... even though I don't write that many posts.

I need a much better system here. If might involve some kind of tiering, like, "share to twitter, which shares to facebook, which shares to LJ". But man, that gets complex. If anyone has any advice, LMK.
