After the Linux conference a while back, Rodger was lent an OLPC laptop for Ada to use. I was sceptical, because I'm mainly focused on making sure she can throw and catch balls, sing, swim, and enjoy stories ( Read more... )

I was pretty impressed. No one has taught her specifically to do so.

But then, no one has taught her to sit down and write numbers, as far as I know.

I may teach her about putting spaces between units of meaning ('words') soon.

Starts at zero! very cool. Owen has a pair of pyjamas with numbers on them which I refer to as the non-zero pyjamas because they only have 9 digits on them. I find the lack of a zero slightly annoying.

Actually, it's the skill I'm best at. I find kicking a ball much more fun than throwing or catching it.
