If there are people in that "tea party" crowd actively wary of being co-opted by the likes of the Koch brothers - or anyone else - that's going to be a good thing, and not just for the wary ones or the USA either. Looking forward to seeing how the wary ones hold up in the years ahead.
Yeah, an activist who brought a lot of people into the local tea party was asked to go to Cancun during the UN Climate Change meeting. All expenses paid. She was planning what she would say when she talked to UN people and how she'd be able to change their minds. When she got there, she was shocked that the guy running her side just had her and other activists standing on the sides of roads while videos were taken of him. She decided not to continue with the activism and took the offered job with a local conservative. She still doesn't believe in climate change, though.
