But it would have been really cool to have had Logan/Wolverine in Captain America: The First Avenger. Just saying. It would have been nice to tie in the X-Men movies with the Avengers. Just a subtle nod would have been nice

It would have been very cool, but since the movie rights to X-Men are owned by FOX, I don't think any other studio is allowed to refer to any of the X-Men in their movies. Same thing for Spider-Man who is owned by Sony (I would have loved to see Spidey in a future Avengers movie!). Chris Hemsworth agrees with you, too! He has said he wishes FOX and Marvel Entertainment could work out a deal to bring The Avengers and X-Men together, splitting the cost and the profits.

Unfortunately, no. Sony is rebooting Spider-Man so they keep the movie rights from going back to Marvel. :-\
