I saw the raw and even though I could not understand the words just looking at the pictures it made me cry. I also noticed that the doll was very used up, and I think Himi's was kind of new, problably because his previuos master (I forgot his name) did not use him.
Asari's doll is probably "in bad shape" because he had to take a lot of damage from every time that Shoui's grandfather used kotodama, back in the beginning Asari wanted to leave Shoui because he could not heal him properly, so is it possible that he was reaching "his expiration date" in terms of healing properties and that is shown in how battered the doll is.
I'm just glad to be able to have people to discuss the series with! I loved all the different expressions Asari had in this chapter.
Yeah, I think Asari's lived for quite a while and as Shoui's grandfather's kami did take up quite a beating. I felt bad for Asari when he couldn't heal Shoui properly. Maybe new Asari will be happier assuming his healing properties will be renewed and he'll be able to better serve Shoui.
