Poems
So, I study and practice writing. This is what I have done for three and a half years, and what I will do until May.
I love to write. Typically I write poems, when it's my choice. But I haven't written any poems worth speaking of in over a year. Maybe two years.
The problem is I never know what to write - I just end up with thoughts like it's ( Read more... ) -

Aside from that, school's fine. I think I'll like my classes, and I had a pretty awesome weekend. Yay! I made layered shots for the first time. Cliches and School
So... my sister is currently reading me cliche phrases that make her laugh. She finds "flog a dead horse" particularly entertaining. That, and "I think you're no spring chicken" and "albatross around your neck." I don't know why she's reading cliches. Really, I don't. But she thinks they're hilarious ( Read more... ) -
The Republic of Heaven
So, after some discussion about religion the other night, media_res told me I should read The Republic of Heaven. So I did.

Ok, ok. It's almost 2am and I'm mostly posting so that I don't have to fight down upset thoughts regarding Palestine every time I look at my lj.

Palestine
Ok this is likely to be a bit of a rant, but I'm tired of one-sided, shallow condemnations of Hamas.
Israel is fucking massacring Palestine, and the U.S. is still on Israel's side. Still supportive. Still viewing Hamas as nothing but another terrorist organization instead of a reaction against already existing oppression, and not making any ( Read more... ) -
