too many ambitions.

I love the new year. It may be my favorite holiday, even if it's perfectly silly for it to fall ten days after the solstice instead of on it. But I love the whole fresh start idea and I love resolutions and ambitions and just all of it. The only problem is I have too many ambitions (a statement which probably doesn't come as a surprise to anybody ( Read more... )

when I'm not brain dead and regain the ability to peel myself off the couch for anything besides bed, food, bathroom, I will look up the titles of some of my french dictionaries/verb books that might be handy to have available while you're over there....

If I recall correctly you took photos and made calendars. I think you can check off made art that's not writing. Or even the Gryphon Beavh storytelling - though that's closer to werk.

On that whole French thing, here's something another of my friends posted:

Back at the end of the summer, a sweet, dear friend of mine gave me a 3-month membership to LiveMocha.com so that I could brush up on my French. I majored in French at university, and while I've managed to keep a decent bit, I've forgotten quite a bit, as well. I was in dire need of distraction at the time, so a gift of a quarter of online French lessons was most especially welcome.

This morning, I got an e-mail from LiveMocha, offering a year's subscription for $9.95 - as opposed to $9.95/month or $99.95/year. A New Year's special, good till 3 January at midnight. Yes, I jumped all over it.

Yay! So I'm adding "brushing up on my French" to my list of 2012 resolutions. I was fluent once upon a time, and I have hopes of getting there again. Perhaps in 2012.

Thought you might be interested.
