"Zombies attacked. Finished the #*$&^#^ book and got light revision letter for TQB. Good day."

I think she's basically got it right ( Read more... )

I was surprised by how much the race stuff in Blazing Saddles still felt dangerous and hilarious because of it.

You know if I had advanced warning for the whole zombie apocalypse day I might have joined in. Because then I would have just blogged on as usual, but with zombies.

or I would have posted my entries from September 12, 2001. That was a fun day in blogging.

If you get TCM then you can watch Blazing Saddles pretty much every weekend as far as I can tell. It is a funny movie. However the first time I saw it was in the cinema (my parents had to sneak me in pretending I was 14!!) the film broke in the middle of the canteen food fight just when a pie was lobbed at the camera. That was so much better as an ending that I don't usually bother to to watch the last ten minutes of the original.

Excellent summary of Zombie Apocalypse Day. I had missed this totally and first came across it on ginmar's blog and just really, really hoped that she was just off her meds. I think that probably counts as me being suckered.

Blazing Saddles is one of those movies that they wouldn't be able to make today. The political correctness police would be all over it and they'd have to make serious cuts.

I love the scene where the new sheriff says "Excuse me while I whip this out" and all the ladies scream. It always breaks me up.
