It's been a while since I haven't talked about the various TV series I'm watching. I'm gonna put things beind cuts so I'm sure I don't accidentally spoil anyone, but I'll try to stay pretty general anyway.
From reading other people's reviews I get the impression Revolution is all the things I hate, bad science, a post-apocalyptic setting that's more an excuse for characters to whine at each other and have boring relationship drama rather than anything else. Plot twists for no reason, annoying kids, groups of evil soldiers whose only motivation is tension and drama for everyone else.
I am quite liking forward to Arrow though, it starts Monday.
It's...quite an accurate description of the show, actually. I mean, it could be so good, you know? It just...isn't. Which is sad, because I like post-apocalyptic worlds. :(
Let me know what you think of Arrow. I need to watch episode 2.
That's what always makes me sad about post-apocalypse shows, there's always so much potential, but they never, ever use it. I think maybe the Walking Dead has tried hardest recently (but does that really count, they're following a comic series.)
I kind of really liked Survivors (the one with Max Beesley, I think it was on the BBC a few years ago?), bu yeah, TV as a whole seems to really mess up post-apocalyptic. :(
Huh, I had the exact opposite reaction to OUAT. I was sorta annoyed with the limits they seemed to be putting on the show and so I was happy to see the expansion they started with Jefferson's hat continue on. :)
And Lancelot OMG. That was awesome.
I'm still catching up on Walking did, and Supernatural made me happy and I hope it keeps going. OMG I need to remember to watch haven!!! I keep meaning to, and then I forget the name and try and look up Castle Rock ^^;;;
Actually, there are so many less-known Grimm stories that it's not as restricting as one might think, but well. As I said, I'm a bit touchy about these things. I don't mind completely changing the stories, reinterpreting them, weaving them together, as long as it's coherent, and to me they were already walking a fine line and it just...doesn't work for me. At this point I guess it's just a matter of taste, though.
Sinqua was an awesome Lancelot.
I'd really recommand watching Haven, it is so much fun! :)
I think the restriction that bugs me is the "Disney owned" restriction. It's so very obvious that's what chosen is based on what Disney has made a movie aroun -_-
It's the biggest erksome issues for me. Though I am looking forward to seeing Sundays :)
I've got to check Haven out. I just, everytime I see it it looks fantastic and then I can never find it!
Yes, this too, which is way I was happy that they included characters like Rumplestilskin and Red (who are not from Disney movies (yet?) but iconic fairy tales character.
I just watched Sunday's episode, and though it has the same thing that annoys me it was so well done I don't even mind. :)
If you DL torrents, then I know eztv.it has the Haven episodes. ;)
