Prologue
A/N: Japanese conversations are in italics.
He’s standing in the middle of the busy lobby of The Venetian, his eyes can’t get away from the beautiful woman standing by the front desk. He smiled as he picked up her conversation with the lady behind the counter. She’s Japanese and her English only consist of ‘I’, ‘room’, ‘please’, ‘internet’, ‘reserve’. He can’t help it anymore and decided to interrupt their conversation.
“Miss, she said that she has booked a room here using the internet.” he interrupted.
She looked at him, surprised to see him again after a long time. He gave her small wave and a smile.
“Can I get your name, Miss?” the front desk lady asked.
She crossed her eyebrow, trying hard to understand what the lady is asking her.
“Uehara Takako.” He replied, winking at her. She just gave him a faint smile.
“Can you please spell that, Sir?” the lady asked.
“U-E-H-A-R-A T-A-K-A-K-O” He patiently spelled her name in English letters.
“For a while, Sir.” the lady said searching on the monitor in front of her.
“Akanishi Jin, what are you doing here?” She asked, curious to know what he’s up to.
“I should be the one asking you that. What are you doing in Las Vegas, aren’t you suppose to be in Japan for the SPEED comeback?” he asked, not answering her question.
She was silent for a while. She doesn’t know if she’ll tell him the reason for her being miles away from home. “None of your business, Akanishi.” she said, hoping that he’ll stop interrogating her.
“Excuse me, Sir. Ms. Takako is booked on room 1407.” The lady said, giving him the key.
“Thank you.” he said picking the key and giving to Takako.
“You’re booked in room 1407, just leave your luggage here, the porter will bring it to your room.” he explained.
“Thank you, Jin. You’re a big help.” she said, smiling at him.
Jin’s stomach flutters when he saw her smile, the smile that he missed seeing for so long. “That’s fine. I’m glad I can be of help.” he smiled back. She's about to head towards the lift but he stopped her, Taka-chan!” He yelled, she turned to look at him. “Are you free for dinner tonight?” he asked straight to the point.
She thought for a moment, her purpose for coming to Las Vegas is not to mingle and have fun roaming around the city and eating dinner in the fancy restaurants, especially when it’s her ex-boyfriend who asks her out. “I don’t think so Jin. I want to rest and sleep.” she made an excuse, she doesn’t want to turn him down but meeting him in this place is not what she planned.
*This has been in my mind for a while now. So, what do you guys think? :))
