Chapter 17

“Aww, Meisa! It’s been a long time since we last saw each other!” Jin’s mom approached her as soon as they entered the house.

“I know, Mrs. Akanishi. I’m so glad to be back here.” she said, hugging her.

“Let’s go to the dining room. Lunch is waiting.” Jin’s mom leaded them inside and saw his dad and Reio seated already.

Jin and Meisa greeted his dad and Reio and sat side by side each other on the dining table. They started their lunch and began catching up with their jobs and lives. Jin is looking for the right timing to announce their news.

“Uuhmm, can I get everyone’s attention?” Jin said, three pairs of eyes looked at him.

“What is it, Jin?” his dad asked.

He looked at Meisa and held her hand, “We wanted to announce something...” he started.

“Go on...” his mom smiled.

“Meisa and I...” he sighed. “we’re expecting...” his dad narrowed his eyes, so is Reio. His mom covered her mouth with her hands. “Meisa is pregnant. We’re going to be parents.” he added.

Jin looked at his parent and brother’s speechless reaction, he then looked at Meisa who’s nervous by how they reacted.

“Oh my God! I couldn’t believe this!” his mom got up her seat and walked over to Meisa. “You’re pregnant?” she took her hands, Meisa stood up to look at her better.

“Yes.” she answered softly.

“Oh my!” Jin’s mom hugged her. “I’m so happy!” she exclaimed, Meisa was relieved.

Before they knew it, they were overwhelmed with congratulations and hugs from the whole Akanishi family. Everyone’s very supportive of them, excited for the arrival of the new member of their family. They spent the rest of the day with everyone, talking about their plans. Jin told them that they are not yet planning for a wedding, he explained their reasons and everyone understands. Meisa is relieved to see their happy smiles and how everyone is hyped-up by their wonderful news.

The next day, Jin invited Pi, Ryo and Kame over at their house, they are announcing their news to them.

“What’s the big news, Akanishi?” Pi asked, coming in the living room with the two boys.

“Are you getting married?” Ryo chuckled.

Jin grinned. “Dinner’s ready, come here!” Jin shouted from the dining room.

They all took their seats and started eating. “Meisa-chan, you look...blooming.” Ryo noticed.

“Thanks, Ryo-chan.” Meisa smiled, looking at Jin and giggling together.

“I think that he proposed.” Pi said, he noticed Kame chucked.

“Kamenashi! You know something again!” Pi yelled. “Ryo?” Pi looked at him, accusing.

“I don’t know anything. I swear!” Ryo defended himself.

“I’m sorry that you didn’t attend the release party...” Kame teased.

“Stop arguing like kids!” Jin stopped them. They all went silent and look at Jin and Meisa, waiting for their announcement. “Okay. Guys, we have some good news.” he started.

“You guys are going to be uncles.” Jin grinned from ear to ear, Pi and Ryo widened their eyes. “We’re having a baby!” Jin shouted with joy.

“EHHH?!” Pi overreacted.

“So overacting.” Kame whispered, making Meisa giggled.

“You mean that Meisa-chan is pregnant?” Ryo asked.

“Duh, of course. Who would it be beside me?” Meisa said sarcastically.

“My head is spinning.” Pi said touching his head. “She’s pregnant after four months? That’s fast, Akanishi!” Pi said. Jin and Meisa smiled.

“It was just four months since we got together but we’ve known each other for almost a year now.” Jin said.

“Time doesn’t matter. These two are so much in love.” Ryo said.

“That’s true. I was shocked when they told me but I realized that this would happen sooner or later. Jin is such a naughty guy!” Kame accused him, making Jin threw him his table napkin.

“I guess.” Pi said, still couldn’t believe that his bestfriend is going to be a father soon. “All the best for both of you!” he said.

“Thanks guys! For your support! Jin smiled.

“Waaaaah! I can’t imagine you with a baby! That’s weird!” Pi yelled, making everyone burst out with laughter.

Weeks passed by and everything’s going great with Meisa and Jin. She stopped working already and just spent time at home resting and being a housewife-like to Jin. She’s doing grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning the house and all sort of household chores, she’s enjoying it though. Her baby bump is starting to show week by week making them more excited.

“I’m having my first scan tomorrow. You’re coming right?” Meisa said as they were having dinner.

“Of course, babe. I wouldn’t miss seeing my baby for the first time.” Jin answered.

The next day come and they arrived at the hospital a few minutes early, they are seated at the doctor’s clinic waiting for her arrive. Jin is holding her hand, she can feel that he’s nervous.

“Jin, don’t be nervous!” she said cheerfully.

“It’s just overwhelming, knowing the fact that we’ll see our baby for the first time today.” he answered.

“I know, I’m excited too.” Meisa answered, running her hands in her tummy.

“Good morning, Kuroki-san, Akanishi-san.” the doctor greeted them as she walks in the clinic. They both smiled and greeted her.

“Are you ready to see your baby?” she asked. Meisa and Jin looked at each other and smiled.

“Yes, Doctor.” Meisa said.

“Follow me.” the doctor leaded them inside the examination room. “Please lie down on the bed, Kuroki-san.” Meisa did as instructed, Jin stood up beside her.

“This is going to be bit cold.” the doctor said to Meisa as they both watched her spread some gel on Meisa’s stomach. She rubbed the scanner around her tummy and smiled, “There it is. That’s your baby.” she pointed the little baby in the monitor. Jin’s eyes glimmered with joy as he fixed his eyes on the monitor, he’s overcome with emotions as he look at their baby for the first time. Meisa held his hand, “That’s amazing, right?” she said, looking at the monitor.

“I know,babe.” Jin answered, his eyes is still fixed at the monitor.

“Mother and baby are doing fine.” the doctor said. “The heartbeat is normal and developing fine. You’re doing a great job Kuroki-san. Akanishi-san is probably taking care of you really well.” she smiled.

“He’s quite overprotective.” Meisa teased and Jin laughed.

“That’s normal for a first time father.” the doctor chuckled.

”See? Even the doctor is on my side.” Jin grinned and Meisa pouted.

The scan finished and the couple went to the doctor’s office to talk to her.

“I see that you’re on your twelfth week now. How’s your morning sickness? Food cravings?” the doctor asked.

“The morning sickness slowed down a bit. Food cravings are still there.” Meisa answered.

“Yeah, food craving’s giving me a hard time.” Jin frowned, Meisa playfully slapped his arms.

“You should put up with her cravings. That makes the baby really happy.” the doctor explained.

“See?” Meisa grinned.

“Anything for the baby.” Jin said, touching her stomach.

Jin bombarded the doctor with so many questions, the doctor and Meisa laughed at how excited and curious he is with knowing a lot of things that relates to Meisa pregnancy.

“I think it’s about time to tell the media about this.” he said, looking at the scan picture as he stopped at the red light on the road.

“Yeah, I’ve been waiting for you to bring that up.” she replied.

“What do you think about calling for a press conference tomorrow?” Jin asked.

“That sounds good to me.” she agreed.

The next day, Jin and Meisa arrive the press conference venue with tons of people outside the place. Media and fans have flocked on the hotel, curious to what Jin’s announcement is.

Sitting at the table in front of the media and photographers flashing their cameras, Jin squeezed Meisa’s hand knowing that she’s nervous.

“Thank you for coming over here this morning. We gathered everyone to make an important announcement.” Jin started.

“What could it be, Akanishi-san? Do we hear wedding bells soon?” A reporter seated at the front asked.

Jin smiled, seeing that it’s what everyone thought whenever they say that they have an announcement. “Not quite.” Jin answered. “We would like to announce that Meisa and I are going to be parents. She’s three months pregnant with my child.”

Hissing and whispering started to take over the whole place. The crowd was shocked with the announcement.

“You’re the first idol in your generation to publicly announce your relationship and you broke another record by being the first one to be a father. How do you feel?” A reporter asked.

Jin was a bit irritated by the question. “I don’t think there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m old enough to date and I think that having a baby in this age is suitable enough.” he answered coldly.

“What can you say, Kuroki-san? You just started your career and now you’re pregnant. Are you still continuing your career?” the same reporter asked.

Jin was more annoyed by his question and Meisa saw his reaction, she squeezed his hand tightly to make him calm down. “The baby is not a hindrance with our careers. I will still continue but for now, the baby is our top priority. I’ll be coming back to the music scene after the baby comes out.” she answered kindly.

“We will not entertain more questions.” Jin said before anyone can start questioning again. “We held this press conference to give out the news personally to our fans. We would like to ask for everyone to respect our privacy especially in the coming months, allowing us to enjoy our baby without the media frenzy.”

“Both of us will be really happy if you support us. We’re excited and overwhelmed by this baby and I hope everyone is happy for us.” Meisa added.

Things worked well for both of them after a few months. Meisa joined Jin and the rest of KAT-TUN in their nationwide tour. The baby is growing fine and healthy inside her and Jin is really happy that he can be a part of the baby’s development, seeing Meisa’s stomach grow as months passed by. The tour ended in Tokyo Dome during Meisa’s seventh month of pregnancy. She’s really happy that the tour ended and Jin will be staying in Tokyo until she gives birth.

The moment that both of them have been waiting for has finally come. Meisa is scheduled to give birth anytime soon and they are both excited.

“Still wouldn’t wanna come out?” Pi asked Meisa as everyone gathered to eat out. Pi, Ryo and Yuu are present together with Yuu’s girlfriend.

“I think she’s enjoying her stay inside me.” Meisa said, rubbing her hand in her swollen belly.

“My little girl is making me so anxious. I’ve been waiting since last week for her to come out.” Jin joined Meisa’s hand on her stomach.

“I think that little girl doesn’t want to see her daddy yet.” Ryo joked making Jin threw him an evil glance.

“Have you decided for her name yet? You’ve been arguing for that since you found out that she’s a girl.” Yuu chuckled.

“Yeah. We decided to call her Sachi.” Meisa announced.

“Sachi means joy and she’s our joy, she makes us happy and I think she’ll make us even happier when she comes out.” Jin explained.

“Nice name, Jin! We’re looking forward to meet Sachi too. When are you coming out, little girl?” Pi asked looking at Meisa’s bulging stomach.

Meisa smiled seeing how excited Jin’s bestfriends too for the arrival of their little girl. “Sachi, you heard your uncles. You should come out now.” Meisa said.

They continued eating and chatting when Meisa felt a little pain in her stomach, she just continue to talk and act normal but it’s getting painful as time goes by.

Jin noticed her getting silent and rubbing her stomach frequently, “Are you okay? Is she kicking again?” he asked, worried.

“No.She’s not kicking.” Meisa said. “It’s different.” she added.

“What do you mean? Is she coming out now?” Yuu asked.

“I think so...” she said as the pain starts to be more painful.

“Whoa. That little girl is easy to talk to.” Pi said.

“Do you really think that it’s time? This is not some sort of a false alarm again?” Jin asked to make sure, he rushed her to the hospital last week because she’s experiencing some pain in her stomach but it turns out to be a false alarm.

“I don’t think so.” she said. “My water just broke.” she said softly making Jin jumped up from his seat. The next thing she knew, they’re riding in his car on the way to the hospital. She’s seated at the back beside Jin. Pi is driving and Ryo is at the passenger’s seat.

A soft cry escaped from Meisa’s mouth, Jin was startled by it, “Calm down, babe. We’re almost nearing the hospital.” Jin said, rubbing her back. She’s felt the pain gets stronger every five minutes.

“It’s hurting so much, Jin!!” She screamed.

“I know!” Jin yelled. “I mean, I don’t know! I never get pregnant before so I don’t know.” he’s scratching his head, making Pi and Ryo giggle on the front. “I’m here, hold my hand.” Jin grabbed her hand and she squeezed it tightly followed by a scream again. “Ahhhhh!”

“Pi! Faster!” Jin yelled at Pi asking him to drive faster.

“Gosh! This is as fast as the law allowed!” Pi replied.

A new stab of pain hit her completely and a loud cry came out from her. “It hurts so much, Jin!!” she screamed, tears are falling from her eyes.

Almost there, Meisa.” Jin looked at outside to see where they are.

“We’re here!” Pi said, stopping the car.

Meisa was rushed to the delivery room and Jin is there beside her. She went on labor for another two hours until their little girl arrived.

“Awww. She’s so cute.” Pi said looking at the little girl in Meisa’s arms, Jin was seated beside her on the bed, he’s resting his head on her shoulders as he played with his daughter’s tiny hands.

“She looks so much like her mommy, right?” Jin said, staring completely at his daughter.

“Good thing she doesn’t look like you.” Ryo joked as Jin rolled his eyes on him.

“She does have her daddy’s eyes, you know.” Meisa said, looking at her child and then at Jin.

Pi and Ryo stayed for a few minutes and left as Meisa needs to rest. The two are left alone with their daughter, admiring and staring at her.

“Do you wanna hold her?” Meisa asked Jin.

“I’m scared. I don’t know how to hold a baby.” Jin answered, unmoved from his position.

“You shouldn’t be.” Meisa shrugged her shoulders to make Jin move from his place in her shoulders. “Just support her head and carry her like I do.” she explained. She passed Sachi in Jin’s arms supporting her before Jin got a hold of her completely.

Jin smiled as he looked at Sachi sleeping so soundly in his arms, its now Meisa’s turn to rest her head in his shoulders. “It was hard for you, huh?” Jin said, kissing Meisa’s forehead.

“It was hard, but you’re there, you never left me so I felt that we shared the hard work.” Meisa mumbled. “And seeing her after nine months, all the hard work and pain pays off. She’s so beautiful, Jin.” Meisa said, gently running her hand in her daughter’s cheeks.

“She’s beautiful, like you.” he said and Meisa smiled.

*TWO YEARS LATER*

“Happy Birthday, Sachi!” Ryo said as he passed her his gift.

“Say thank you to Uncle Ryo, Sachi.” Jin said, carrying Sachi in his arms.

“Thank you, Uncle Ryo.” Sachi said, excitedly looking at her present. “Open.” she told Jin.

“What did Mommy say, Sachi? You’ll open all your gifts later.” Jin got a hold of the present in his daughter’s hand.

The little girl’s face suddenly got sad and fall her face in Jin’s shoulder.

“Don’t make the little girl cry, Jin!” Ryo grinned.

“What’s wrong?” Meisa came over and got Sachi from Jin’s arms.

“She wants to open her gifts.” Jin said.

“I told you that you’ll open your gifts when the party ends, right?” Meisa said, rubbing the tears from Sachi’s eyes. “Gifts later, Sachi... What about ice cream? You want one, right?” she asked, smiling at her daughter. Sachi nodded and smiled.

“Nice family, Jin.” Ryo tapped his shoulders as they took a seat on the table with Pi and Kame.

“I know. I’m lucky to have them.” Jin said, looking at Meisa and Sachi happily eating ice cream from afar. “Meisa is such a good mother , she’s so hands-on and I’m glad that our family is her top priority more than anything else.” Jin added.

The party ended few hours later and the couple are putting their daughter to sleep.

“She’s so tired.” Meisa giggled seeing that Sachi was fast asleep.

“She has a blast with all the guests and the gifts.” Jin was on the other side of the bed stroking Sachi’s head.

“Let’s go and sleep now, I’m tired too.” Meisa said standing up to go to the bathroom. Jin followed her, “What?” she asked as she’s about the put the tooth brush in her mouth.

“Let’s go out for a while.” Jin grabbed her hands and pulled her to their garden. They moved into a new house a little less than a year after Sachi was born, it was Jin’s anniversary present to her.

“What’s this, Jin?” she said, standing in the middle of their garden. A loud blast startled her, it was fireworks. “Akanishi Jin? What’s this?” she said, looking at the sky to see the fantastic display.

“Just watch. It’s pretty right?” Jin put his arms around her waist. They we’re silent as they cuddled together watching the fireworks.

“Sachi’s birthday party ended already, you should display those fireworks when there are still guests.” Meisa joked as the fireworks ended.  She feels his purpose is different.

“It’s not for that.” Jin shook his head. He moved from her side to face her. He got a hold of her hand and smiled. Meisa’s heart is beating faster.

Jin got something from his pocket, it was a small box. He gently opened it and a shining white diamond ring welcomed Meisa, she can feel her whole body tremble with excitement. He slowly bent down on one knee, “Three years knowing you, two years with our daughter, I want to spend more years with the two of you... not just years but forever with both of you. So will you give me that chance? Will you marry me?”

Tears of joy flowing from Meisa’s eyes, she put her free hand on her mouth and nodded. “I’ll marry you, Akanishi Jin.” she said, Jin put the ring on her finger and stood up to kiss her.

“I love you, Meisa.” Jin mumbled in between kisses.

“I love you too, Jin.” she said as they pulled from the kiss, both of them are smiling from ear to ear as Meisa let her body fall on him for a hug. “Thank you.” she whispered.

They celebrated their engagement playing and chasing each other in the garden, running around like little kids. It wasn’t a smooth sailing ride for them when they first met each other. But the saying the more you hate, the more you love seems real for both of them.
