[Andromeda Tonks and Narcissa Malfoy; Bartype-place]

Dec 15, 2009 19:16

Two sisters sit at either end of the bar, pointedly not talking. One has rich, dark hair and is nursing a cup of hot chocolate whilst looking a bit pale, and the other is a stern looking blonde who is leafing hurriedly through some large tome of a book ( Read more... )

You know what happens when you try looking for something in a book?

Someone else makes an outburst without even meaning to and completely messes you up.

"WHAT?! NOW?!"

Seems some members of the Magic Guild Council who weren't looking at the schedule thought now would be a fantastic time to set some meetings regarding tuition fees and how to apply them. Not a bad idea, except that it should have happened a couple of weeks ago.

"I can't go back now! And this is going to mess up the schedules for Draco and Nash!"

There's nothing else for it. She'll just have to sign an official override until the boys can fit it in. Still not a pleasant subject.

So there's Mia, so frustrated by this unexpected news that she's slumping all the way down to sit on the floor.

Did we mention she's also 30 weeks pregnant?

Such an untoward outburst for a young woman ... but Narcissa does take into account the fact that the girl is a bit pregnant.

Narcissa sets her book down on the counter and peers down at Mia with ... well, a face that's only slightly amused. She's trying to hide it, at least.

She can't even offer the girl wine, considering her state.

"A bit" being an understatement. Only 10 weeks-ish before baby's here. And won't Narcissa be pleased to know that Mia's mother-in-law still doesn't know.

Though that's Draco's doing and not Mia's.

Mia lets out a nice, frustrated sigh before she feels eyes on her and looks up.

And...well, actually? Narcissa's amusement is enough to brighten her up to laughing.

Mood swings. They're a bitch, aren't they?

"That was a mistake, wasn't it?" she asks. "I can't get up now."

"Thank Merlin I never had to go through that more than once," she agrees. Draco is one child enough for her anyway, even now. Splitting affection is not something she's very good at.

She does offer her hand after a moment, sliding off the stool so she doesn't merely end up on the ground next to Mia.

A woman with long brown hair and a multi-coloured skirt sits down beside Narcissa, with her wand sticking through her ponytail and a copy of the Prophet in her hand. "Hey, Narcissa. How's Draco?" This... is probably decidedly odd.

The eyebrow, it is raised.

"And you are...?" This is somewhat disconcerting. People are not usually nearly so friendly with her, especially if they know her name.

Anne is friendly with everyone. Even the ones who hate her for it. However, this is a bit... odd to her. She facepalms, however. "Oh, crap. Um. I'm Anne Vincent-Black, and you probably don't know me from Merlin." It might be interesting to note that her accent is American with the faintest hint of British.

[ooc: Apologies to poor Narcissa. Anne's from a v. strange AU where she married Regulus. Who didn't die. Oops.]

[Ooc: oh, the one with the politicians! Yes, I have heard of it a little.]

This woman is bastardizing an accent and has apparently married a Black - two strikes against her in some ways - but at least she has admitted her mistake.

"Not in the least. I remain Narcissa Malfoy, for your reference."
