[Andromeda Tonks and Narcissa Malfoy; Bartype-place]

Dec 15, 2009 19:16

Two sisters sit at either end of the bar, pointedly not talking. One has rich, dark hair and is nursing a cup of hot chocolate whilst looking a bit pale, and the other is a stern looking blonde who is leafing hurriedly through some large tome of a book ( Read more... )

A woman with long brown hair and a multi-coloured skirt sits down beside Narcissa, with her wand sticking through her ponytail and a copy of the Prophet in her hand. "Hey, Narcissa. How's Draco?" This... is probably decidedly odd.

The eyebrow, it is raised.

"And you are...?" This is somewhat disconcerting. People are not usually nearly so friendly with her, especially if they know her name.

Anne is friendly with everyone. Even the ones who hate her for it. However, this is a bit... odd to her. She facepalms, however. "Oh, crap. Um. I'm Anne Vincent-Black, and you probably don't know me from Merlin." It might be interesting to note that her accent is American with the faintest hint of British.

[ooc: Apologies to poor Narcissa. Anne's from a v. strange AU where she married Regulus. Who didn't die. Oops.]

[Ooc: oh, the one with the politicians! Yes, I have heard of it a little.]

This woman is bastardizing an accent and has apparently married a Black - two strikes against her in some ways - but at least she has admitted her mistake.

"Not in the least. I remain Narcissa Malfoy, for your reference."

"I... know. At least I know you back in my universe." She sighs, and mutters half under her breath. "It took you a while back home too." There's a pause, where she fiddles with the Prophet, finally finding her voice. "I married Regulus, for reference."

"Better at least than Sirius," she says before the girl has a chance to say anything further.

Her brow arches a bit higher. "This should be interesting." Since she assumes the girl is going to make some sort of explanation up.

Anne snorts. "Hardly. He's so attatched to Remus that I doubt anyone could pry him away with a crowbar. Besides. We don't get along that well." She shrugs. "Regulus and I, well, we fussed at first, but somehow, we just clicked." She sighs, and holds out her hand. "At least in my world, these are Black family heirlooms." There is a rather large diamond ring on her hand, which looks like it was originally made in about the eighteenth century. "And, really, you can quiz me on anything. I do actually know what I'm talking about."

"Oh Merlin, I think I just vomited in my mouth a tad." But at least her flea-bitten cousin could have that little wolf and perhaps spare her sister's child any ... well, hardship.

She might've more or less hated the family, but she didn't wish death and fleas upon them persay.

"I would much rather not speak at all of such a place, if it is all the same to you." If things are better there might be some sort of irrational jealousy.

Frankly, if Anne knew about certain... situations in Narcissa's world, she would probably have a similar reaction.

"Sure. It's odd to learn about a world that's similar but different, really." She sighs, and orders a glass of apple cider. "So, how long have you known about this place?"

"A few years, actually." Before everything that happened in the Wizarding War finally came to a head, at least.

It had been a welcome escape in the aftermath as well, something she was grateful for.

"I first found this place sixth year. I was on my way to a game, and ended up here instead of the changing tent." She shrugs. "At least I was able to calm down before the game."

"Indeed." She is vaguely amused by this, but tries not to show it for the most part.

"And I can only assume that you are no longer in your sixth year, married to Regulus as you are." Or ... perhaps not.

"Oh, no. I'm definitely beyond that. I'm an Auror, and I have two kids, Grace and Kevin." Yes, Anne even got beyond the Black naming conventions. "Regulus was a bit fed up with stars and flowers for names of kids."

"Was he, now? I can't imagine why."

She at least thought that Draco was a fine name for a boy regardless of its astrological significance.
