Among the things that weren't here thirty seconds ago is one Adelle DeWitt, who looks up from whatever she'd been studying on her table (just the wood grain, as it happens, through the bottom of her empty glass) and studies Victor with a look that would best be described as impassive.
There's a brief pause on her end, before she offers up a slightly stilted, "Hello, Victor."
In his shock over the sudden and dramatic change in location - aside from not having been here thirty seconds ago, this place is also way louder and more crowded than any of the other areas have been, and doesn't really seem like a good place to stash a bunch of people who've had their brains wiped or whatever the hell - Victor forgets, for a second or two, to play it like he is one of the brainwiped masses.
He blinks at the woman, then thinks oh FUCK right, play it down, play along and tries to look totally blank as he says,
"I'm fine," Victor says, blanding it up as hard as he possibly can.
Then, very very carefully, because he can't get caught seeming interested in something but dammit even in some creepy institution this cannot be a normal situation, he continues,
"I don't remember there being a restaurant outside the sauna."
Where you should definitely not go to find that asshole still asleep, please and thank you.
Sam looks up from the mechanical bird he's working on and gives a slightly nervous smile, his outfit would look out of place in the Dollhouse with leather breeches and a linen shirt,
"Its rather surprising. I still haven't figured out how it does it."
Everything looks out of place right now. It has all day, even since he woke up to find himself in what Echo so aptly termed "a five-star floor coffin," but this really takes the cake.
He's so baffled that he forgets, for a few seconds, that he's going for blank and incurious. The fact that this is the first person outside their (his) group to talk to him like they both have brains in their heads doesn't help to jog his memory any.
"Apparently its a sort of gateway that connects worlds and I don't know how it works. I'm Sameth. I can get you something to drink while I try and explain."
For about a second or so, Victor is profoundly relieved to hear the sound of Echo's voice.
Then her words sink in. She sounds just like -
Oh no. Come on. Please let her be playacting for the cameras. She's too smart to have gotten caught like Mike did.
"Echo," he says, discreetly concealing the security card in his hand and moving toward her, trying to look and sound unobtrusive. "I thought you were - waiting. Somewhere else?" He glances around. "With November?" Is November here, too? He doesn't see her.
Fuck. That was not what he wanted to hear. Victor sags a little. This is not good. This place appears out of nowhere, which is just not supposed to fucking happen, and now they've got Echo, too, and November is missing.
He has to find Sierra now.
"I'm sorry, Echo," he says helplessly. "We - we'll come back and get you if we can, okay?" It's an empty promise and he knows it - they'd never be able to get back in - but hell, she probably won't even remember it in five minutes, anyway. It's really just making himself feel better.
He turns back toward the door -
- and suddenly has a new problem to add to the list.

. . . uh huh.
He'd bet money this guy hangs out with Mike.
"Right. Uh, thanks, but, I was going to the - uh, the pool. To swim."
Victor turns and damn near walks into the wall that was not there fifteen seconds ago.
"Oh, what the fuck."
His cover is so blown. It'll be another few seconds before he notices.

Delighted: "Good evening, Victor!"
A beat, as she takes in his appearance.
". . . Is something wrong?"
