"No, Hendrix, I'm not going to your scene and doing your work for you. How the hell'd you get to be a Level Two anyway?" Sara clicks her phone shut with a satisfied grin, returning her attention to a physics journal.

There's a knock on the door, then a pause, then another knock. Roger can be insistant sometimes.

"Come in, Roger." At least he remembered to knock this time. Sara sits up, putting her magazine aside.

"I probably shouldn't ask how you knew it was me." Roger comes in, trying to look calm, but mostly looking a bit giddy. "Hey, Mom. People being stupid again?"

"You're the only one who knocks that way. Simple observation, dear. As for stupid people, when are they not?" She tilts her head, studying his expression. "All right--what've you and/or your sisters done now?"
