From one second to the next, Eleanor goes from just standing there to being surrounded by flames. Well contained and controlled flames that don't harm anything. In fact, no heat can even be felt from them.
After a second or two, Eleanor actually lifts from the floor, hovering in mid-air.
(yah, I'm kinda making this one up ;) this Eleanor's gotten a lot further with her learning than she had at the end of the book)
She eases herself back down slowly, and the flames fade away to nothing. "It's not something I can do for very long," she admits, her breathing increased a bit somewhat. "It requires a lot of concentration and is quite draining, frankly."
"Are you all right? I mean," she waves a hand towards Tiwa's arm. "I know it's none of my business, but if there is anything I can do to help, I'd be glad to."
Overcoat wet and dripping, she heads towards the fire and nods a polite greeting to the other young woman there.

Tiwa watches, her eyes bright and in the light of the fire, more feathers glint in her hair and the bird in her is easier to see.
