It's too cold to go outside, too awkward to stay upstairs... so Max is sitting in a chair near the fire, reading.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Not only is she surviving the disappointment earlier after someone mentioned Chili's, but now she has to face the fact there aren't going to be any sweet potatoes, turkey (with sandwiches counting leftovers), pie or jell-o salad with marshmallows in them.

While walking along trying to clear her mind (or find someone to get her a plate of buffalo wings and cater to her napkin needs, she stumbles upon a familiar face reading a book.

"That's a pretty bitching book," she says in approval.

She plops down in the chair next to his, legs thrown over the arm closest to him. She reaches out her arms, flexing her fingers as if gesturing to him that she wants to see the book.

"So is Thanksgiving around here supposed to be this lame? My mom would totally be prep-cooking and baking by now."

He shuts the book and holds it out to her.

"I think there might be some big thing down here tomorrow. The bar usually knows when there's a holiday."
