"Okay," he says mildly. She's not in his personal space, so he's not letting her know. This makes perfect sense to him.

She supposes it's also possible that he's a visiting physician. Hopefully he doesn't mind a little bit of a chat; Andromeda tries to have real and meaningful conversations on her break to counteract all the jargon she has to spout on the job.

At any rate, he's not opposed to a chat and that's what matters.
"Oh. No. I don't work here." Of course he can also be as clear as mud sometimes. It's just the way he is.

"I'm Andromeda," she continues, smiling. "Are you enjoying your visit so far? The evening's been pretty quiet." As quiet as an evening in a busy hospital could be, at least. No mass causalities as of yet.

"You're not," he says absently. He glances over and gives her a polite nod. "You can have my seat, if you like."

"I'm just as happy to take the one next to you," she says, settling down to do just that. Her paper bag is set on the table and from inside it she pulls a few things - what looks like a slice of quiche and a very generous serving of fruit salad.
People could say what they liked about Severus Snape and his grumpiness as long as they made no mention of his skills in the kitchen. The quiche, curiously, appears to already be warm.
"You're new, aren't you? I haven't seen you before, but you knew your way around the ER well enough." Or he'd at least been comfortable in the environment.

"Simon," he adds, as an afterthought, and offers his hand. "I'm Simon Tam."

"Well, visiting doctor Simon Tam -- I think that helping out in the ER at the very least earns you half of this overly-large meal that my," she wonders if 'flatmate' is accurate in this situation, "concerned party has packed up for me. You may have to scrounge for your own utensils, though." Running a duplicating charm in public would be a bit obvious, she's sure.
