Revolutionary Girl Utena can be compared with much of anything. It can be a daily metaphor for life, it can be an interpretation for a novel or situation, it can even be closely compared with another anime.

I don't know Utena...but ehm...I was too busy squeeing over the Puzzleshipping references to care. xD

This was nicely done, actually. I loved the in-depth symbolic references. That's one of the reasons I love Yugioh so much, because when you stop and look, it's so multi-layered and deep, and you really can sit down and write out page after page of delving into the symbolism.

This has also inspired angsty Puzzleshippy fanfiction. I must go feed the plot bunnies now. x3 *scuttles away*

(Oh, and yep, it's called Marshmallon. Or maybe Marshmellon. One of those. I'm bad at spelling and I traded away the only one I had so I can't check it. ^^;;)

xD Even so, a Puzzleshipper who's into symbolism is cool to find! Howdoyoudo!

Utena is the first series I'd recommend watching, but the first few episodes are somewhat wacky. It's like Yuugiou -- it takes time to get used to the crack and the weirdness...

I'm not even sure if the symbolism in Yuugiou was put there on purpose or not, but it's there and it's pretty. My geek-side has been wanting to get this out for a while, and now I've realized a lot of things about YGO i didn't see before. Further evidence that Puzzleshipping is cannon, dangit!

Coolest card ever. Make it a title for one of your fanfics. "xD *bricked*

This was pretty deep. I always thought that Yugi and Atem (I cannot call him Yami) were Twin Flames, two souls that are part of one. If anyone could justify a relationship between them, there it is. I think the Takahashi tried to shy away from that after he realized what he did. Heh.

Thanks! I always wondered whether Takahashi made them so-close on purpose or not, but it seems to be the former. It's possible he stepped back screaming, "It's alive!" after seeing all the fansites. >__>;;

You may be right! ;D I wonder if he even knows how many yaoi fics there are! I mean, adultfiction has a whole section dedicated to Yugioh and Yugioh GX. Oy!

Oh my gosh, AFF ruined me! "xD I can't even imagine Takahashi reading that sort of thing. Even J.K. Rowling mentioned, "Ah! The fanfiction!" and not in a good way. >_>;;

He's had to have seen all the fanart that could have scared him for life and realized it was all his doing!

Very nicely written. I didn't read the part about Yugi vs Bakura and the Yugi/ATM duel because I don't want to be spoiled.(yes yes I'm slow :DDD I keep getting distracted during my marothoning of YGO episodes) But whatever I read seems to be very well thought-out and in-depth. Very nice.:D ( ... )

Thanks! And I think I know what you're talking about, though I can't be sure. I've only glanced at Utena-YGO parodies, not really watch them x.x

Utena is the first anime I'd recommend watching if you're into metaphors/symbolism/stuff, but the first few episodes are wack. It takes time to get used to it -- like looking at Yuugi's spikey hair.

I know -- It's cute to see them together and stuff, but the friendship's so innocent. "I love you, Jonouchi," was too cute to be romantic. Even though I like YamixYuugi (and sometimes MaixJoey), I sometimes think JoeyxYuugi is a purer, awesome-er, love. x3

I never realized how similar the two were until now. Even Yuugi and Atem's "relationship" is similar to Anthy and Utena! I smell a cross-breeding. <3

Thanks! :3 A symbolic Utena-YGO xbreed would make my holiday, especially if there's Puzzleshipping! I think there's more to the two than just the duels.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Anzu yet, though. I was scared I might get my head bitten off for saying she was limp-damsel. ;_; I wonder if comparing her to Utena was too much. Maybe she's more like Nanami?
